On January 17, 2022 Rania was playing basketball at Central High School and tore her ACL when she hyperextended her knee. On February 9, 2022 she underwent ACL reconstruction with Dr. Vailas. Although she tore it playing basketball, softball is her main sport. Rania was a very motivated patient. She worked hard to regain her ROM and strength. By three months post op she was running and performing high level balance and proprioceptive activities. She transitioned to our safe sports network and worked with Abe, her athletic trainer. Over the summer, they worked on eccentric quadricep strength and agilities. Rania has been released to full athletic activity by Dr. Vailas and will be playing softball for Endicott college this year.
