Healthy Orange Chicken Recipe

  • 2 pounds skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 cups green beans
  • 2 tablespoons toasted sesame oil
  • 2 cups orange juice
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup coconut aminos
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons fresh ginger (grated)
  • 1/2 teaspoon orange zest
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

  1. Marinate the Chicken: Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces. In a bowl, mix the orange juice, coconut aminos, honey, garlic powder, grated ginger, and orange zest. Add the chicken pieces to the marinade and let them sit for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Cook the Chicken: Heat the toasted sesame oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the marinated chicken and cook until browned and cooked through. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
  3. Prepare the Sauce: In the same skillet, add the chicken broth and deglaze the pan. Add the green beans and cook until tender-crisp. Pour in the remaining orange juice mixture and bring to a simmer. Add the cooked chicken back to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce.
  4. Serve: Serve the healthy orange chicken over brown rice or cauliflower rice. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions if desired.
