What is fascia and myofascial release?
by Apple Therapy
MFR is a safe and very effective hands- on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pan and restore motion.
Fascia is a connective tissue which spreads through the body in a 3- dimensional web from head to toe without interruption. The role of fascia is to support and stabilize. In a normal healthy state fascia has the ability to move without restrictions. In this state your whole system is aligned and balanced and functions in an optimal capacity.
Due to physical/emotional/and repetitive trauma, poor posture, surgical procedures, scarring and inflammation the fascia loses its pliability, shortens, thickens causing your body to be out of optimal alignment and reproducing pain.
