Vertigo & Dizziness

Vertigo is often officially diagnosed as BPPV (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo). BPPV is caused from the otoconia (aka inner ear crystals) that get dislodged in the ear canals and cause patients to feel disequilibrium.

Common symptoms include:

  • complaints that the room is spinning when rolling or sitting up in bed
  • imbalance
  • dizziness
  • nausea
  • disequilibrium when driving or walking in grocery store
  • visual disturbances
  • hearing loss or ringing in ears

Dizziness can have a variety of causes, but often cervicogenic dizziness is caused from tight muscles from the neck to the head and may present with or without tension like headaches.
