Explore Our Work Hardening and Conditioning Program

Has a patient sustained a workplace injury? Does the patient’s job require medium to very high physical demand? If traditional therapy treatment has concluded but the patient still can’t return to work, Apple Therapy’s work conditioning program can help.

Work conditioning programs fill the gap between finishing therapy for an injury and returning to work. Specifically, work conditioning aims to restore physical function needed for work through strength, endurance, mobility, and motor control. Sessions occur 3-5 times per week for 2-8 weeks.

Apple Therapy’s Work Conditioning program follows an Advanced Work Rehabilitation model and offers flexible, individualized rehabilitation incorporating physical conditioning and functional rehabilitation as well as work simulation activities.

Commonly treated injuries include:

  • Repetitive stress injuries
  • Sprains/strains
  • Traumatic injury
  • back/neck injuries
  • MVA
  • Fracture
  • Post-surgical

Candidates include patients with:

  • Physical/functional deficits interfering with work after conclusion of acute injury treatment
  • Referral from a physician, nurse case manager, or adjuster

A day of Apple Therapy’s Work Conditioning Program is:

  • Tailored to the individual
  • Delivered by a single discipline, either physical or occupational therapy, and supported by other clinical personnel, such as assistants or athletic trainers
  • Targets injury and functional job deficits

Your therapist communicates regularly about your progress with nurse case managers, adjusters, physicians, and other care team members.
